今11月、オーストラリアのアーティスト、
コートニー・コームス（Courtney Coombs）が来日し、
日本で初の個展「Wish You Were Here」（キュレーター：エミリー・ウェイクリング）を
11月19～11月25日の期間、開催致します。

またコートニーの展示に合わせて、“集まっておこなうアート”というコンセプトで、
フェミニスト・ディナー・パーティを東京で開催致します。

「思考の糧（Food for thought）」と題されたこのパーティは、
フェミニスト・アーティストとして知られるジュディ・シカゴの代表作
「ディナー・パーティ」（1974－1979）に喚起されおこなっているものです。
ジュディ・シカゴの「ディナー・パーティ」は、
象徴的に配膳された女性のための食卓を作品としたもので、
この作品は当時の美術界に議論を巻き起こしました。

思考の種：ディナー・パーティは、社会運動とアートを結びつける試みとして、
コートニー・コームスもその一員であり、
他にメルボルンやブリスベン在住のアーティストたちと共同で運営しているスペース
「 LEVEL」で開催されてきました。

そしてこの度、この「思考の種」を日本でも開催することになりました。
日本では「フェミニズム」というと、解らない、知らないという方も多いと思いますが、
思想の観点からではなく、女性たちが集まって、
女性をめぐる環境、社会、メディア、表現、生き方など、さまざまなお話をしませんか？
このパーティには女性であれば、年齢や国籍に関係なく参加することができます。
肉体は男性でも心は女性である、と思われる方もお待ちしています。

昨年の東日本大震災をきっかけに、
今の日本社会では、ひとりひとりの暮らし方、生き方を問われているように思います。
それは個人として考える事でもあり、女性としてどう生きるか、表現していくか、
そんなことにも向き合っているのではないでしょうか。
さまざまな思考を持ち寄り、気軽に食事をしながら、
女性同志で それぞれの視点、考えを共有してみませんか？
小さな悩みや、大きな問題、言いたいこと、きいてほしいことをお話しましょう。
女性のみなさま、親愛なる姉妹たちのご参加を心より希望しています。

「思考の糧」は、11月16日（金）の19時から21時まで「路地と人」にて簡単な夕食とともに、
11月17日（土）と11月18日（日）は13時から15時まで、
代々木公園でピクニック・ランチととにもおこなう予定です。
いずれも日本語と英語の通訳を交えて、各回12名ほどで集まります。
気軽で暖かな雰囲気の催しです。

Australian artist Courtney Coombs will host a short series of events based on LEVELart collective's ongoing project, Food For Thought. The events, which have been previously held in the Australian cities of Brisbane and Melbourne, combine social activism with art. The concept is inspired by Judy Chicago’s iconic artwork, The Dinner Party (1974), a sculpture that symbolically set a place at the table for women and sparked debate among the art world.

Courtney is also having her first solo exhibition in Japan, “Wish You Were Here”, curated by Emily Wakeling. The exhibition is open at Rojitohito from November 19-25 (open 13:00-19:00 every day).

The Food For Thought events will be held at two locations during November: on Friday 16, there will be a dinner at Roji to Hito; and on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 there will be picnic lunches held in Yoyogi Park. They will be held in English and Japanese with the assistance of an interpreter. With a maximum of 12 participants at each event, and no spectators, the atmosphere is kept very casual and personal.


Tokyo women who are interested in participating—young or old, Japanese speakers or non-Japanese speakers—are invited to participate by sharing a meal and talking about feminism. Due to the limited number of participants, reservations are essential.
